CDMX

This short series documents the individuals I saw on the streets of Juárez, Roma, Condesa, and San Ángel. Normally, I let my photographs speak for themselves, but this time, I felt compelled to share my thoughts and observations alongside them.

I didn’t arrive in Mexico with this project in mind. I captured the things that stood out to me. Old German cars rolling through the streets. Rap battles unfolding on street corners. Street parties spilling out onto pavements, blurring the line between public and private space. I was drawn in, observing, absorbing—inevitably comparing everything to my own culture, internalising the contrast in ways I didn’t fully understand in the moment. Sometimes, this led to incredible encounters with strangers who became friends; other times, I found myself in situations I probably should have avoided.
